Home Affordable Refinance Program (HARP)

What is "Making Home Affordable" all about?
The Making Home Affordable Program is part of the Obama Administration's broad, comprehensive strategy to get the economy and the housing market back on track. The Making Home Affordable Program offers strong options for homeowners refinancing mortgage loans through the Home Affordable Refinance Program (HARP).
This special temporary program is designed to help homeowners refinance who have lost equity in their homes. This program will allow homeowners with certain Fannie Mae or Freddie Mac loans to refinance their homes with no Mortgage Insurance.
For well qualified borrowers with detached Single Family Homes the program may allow you to refinance up to 125% of your homes appraised value. The program will also allow participating 2nd mortgages to subordinate to the new loan allowing total mortgage debt to exceed 125%.
For Example:
If a home appraises for $200,000 the program may allow a homeowner to refinance their current mortgage balance of $250,000.
This program is a bit complicated so please call to see if your current home loan qualifies for this program. This program will also work for Homeowners who may be just above 80% of their homes appraised value but don’t want to pay monthly mortgage insurance.
* This like all loan programs are subject to credit qualifications and program guidelines.
